Ash Sarkar on the Fake News Election 🤥

Ash Sarkar on the Fake News Election 🤥

The BBC is the most important cultural institution
we have in this country after Boy Better Know but the problem i, is that it has slipped from
those lofty standards to which we hold it. So instead of being an impartial broadcaster,
holding all politicians to account, and giving them an equally hard time their journalists have
been put in a position where they have traded integrity
for access to number 10. So an interviewer like Andrew Neil can’t
nail down Boris Johnson for an interview but others who are shall we say a little bit
more amenable get all the access they want. The absolute pits of this election was seeing multiple
blue tick well-paid journalists sharing fake news. The fake news that a Labour activist, who was one amongst a hundred paid
activists at Leeds General Infirmary, had punched Matt Hancock’s
spad in the head. Once footage emerged it transpires
that there weren’t 100 activists, none of them were paid to be
there and there was no punch. Why is that boy
sleeping on the floor? These people have
devastated our country. I pointed my hand hand
and you walked into it. If we can’t trust our
journalists to tell the basic truth. to wait for evidence, to seek out
what’s gone on, to verify events, then what are they there for? It costs a lot of money
to look this cheap and Double Down news needs your dosh. You’re not going to be able to create a
new political reality without having a dramatically changed media ecology and
Double Down News is part of that. Go to their Patreon, fund them,
they need your dosh, give it. Alright, FridgeGate, 20 seconds… What happened was is that Boris Johnson
is so scared of being questioned by Susanna Reid that he went and hid in a fridge. So just like the ending of
Indiana Jones in the Crystal Skull he got in the fridge to avoid
the nuke of press accountability. This is a man who’s supposed
to stand up for this country in front of Donald Trump
when he wants the NHS stand up to President Putin, President Xi, but he can’t handle a
little light morning telly?

  1. I was saying you could tell Kuenssberg self-identified as a Tory two years ago. It was obvious to me. But no-one picked up on my comments. Labour should have gone into this election with a policy to scrap the licence fee. It would have been an extrremely popular one anyway – but if Labour want to keep taking it on the chin….

  3. We need an independent organisation to control the BBC. Governments should not be able to with-hold funds to obtain a Conservative agenda. We also need different presenters from low income backgrounds to be rotated through programmes at a regular pace to present a different pov. ..Not just presenters who get richer and richer and richer, towing the establishment line

  5. The media is the biggest problem we have in this country. Something really needs to be done to change how they manipulate and control the way people think and therefore vote? How can it be right that so so many people will be voting, completely against their (and most people they know) own best interests this election, purely based on the lies, smears, disinformation, and distractions that are deliberately perpetrated by the massively disproportionate right-wing media of this country? ❤️ #JC4PM For the many, not the few #ToriesOut #EndAusterity #SaveOurNHS #VoteLabour ❤️

  6. The BBC has been in decline for decades. This GE they have reached rock bottom. Gone are the days of cutting edge documentaries and news you could rely on compared to other sources. Today's BBC is not worth the licence fee and it angers me that they have so little respect for their audience they insult our intelligence with every fake news cast. DDN and Nova are not alternative media they are now the mainstream.

  7. If you want to see BBC establishment bias in action, just check out their shockingly apathetic and sneering coverage of the climate crisis. They have truly let the country down.

  12. The Editorial Director of BBC news is Mr Kamal Ahmed. In the lead up to the invasion of Iraq, Kamal was news editor at The Guardian and had a close relationship with Mr Tony Blair PM. News that Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction was spiked by Kamal. Fellow journalist Nick Davies criticised Kamal’s work for containing ‘significant falsehood or distortion’. The question is – who appointed Kamal as news director of the BBC?

  13. Sickened to the back teeth with the complete lack of integrity of especially BBC journalism. People such as Kuenssburg should be ashamed but their narcassistic social climbing behaviour drives them on. It's sad that a few journalists can swing an election.

  15. The bias is very telling when the BBC report the Conservatives as "saying" whereas when Corbyn leaked the US trade documents, Labour were simply "claiming". Word choice matters.

  18. The BBC helped propagate the Iraq WMD lie and that's when I first realised something wasn't right about that organisation, but the false reporting surrounding this GE has somehow been worse simply due to how brazen, unapologetic and unaccountable they're being. Noone has faced any discipline for any of the terrible reporting that's been going on. That is out-fucking-rageous.

  20. As Superhans said "people like Coldplay and voting for the Nazis"

People are thick, and unfortunately a climate that let Ed Sheeran go to number one has now let Boris Johnson, the ludicrous blob, actually fulfil his lifelong addictive dream of ultimate power and status.

  21. One reason for Boris avoiding interviews that I haven't heard anyone talk about is laziness. Boris is always comes across as woefully prepared on almost every subject he is asked about. He will give a superficial answer then pivot to blaming someone else or changing the subject, he does not seem to know the details of almost anything.

Whether or not you trust him (I don't) or agree with his politics (I don't) his laziness and lack of preparation should have been an election issue.

  22. Laura Kuenssberg of the BBC is a disgrace. Her chummy tone with Bojo is what this video talks about at the start. She trades integrity and plays the mouth piece for what ever the Tory PR machine gives out in order to not upset no 10 for exclusive interviews. No integrity.

    One word – propaganda
I threw away my TV while the WMD lie was being repeated endlessly. Haven't looked back & won't pay to be fed propaganda.

  25. Labour need to get clever and dirtier if they ever want to get in, i noticed the bbc were so biased in this election, it stood out like a sore thumb making me so angry. Even the guests they had on usually outnumbered the solitary labour supporter, always banging on about antisemitism but very little on all the boris lies, i am fucking disgusted in the bbc, and where were the warnings of the outcome of brexit like the end of the uk . Worst journalism i have ever witnessed, its all been rigged.

I have to go down under for UK news – to Sky News Australia, one of the few MSM channels that seems to have escaped socialist indoctrination.
And if the BBC is so biased towards the Tories why do they now want to stop the licence fee?

  31. Blair/Alistair Campbell destroyed BBC's independence from gov't after Blair sacked Greg Dyke as BBC Director General – 4 broadcasting UN weapons inspectors true reports on non-existence of WMD in Iraq (and govt knew that weapons did not exist prior 2 Blair deciding 2 go 2 war in Iraq on basis of a lie)… Not 2 mention the Senior weapons inspector who gave the report 2 the BBC ended up dead a few days after the story broke.
