Eritrean Mass Resistance Against Imperialism

What we have been saying is.. Me and my comrades went in there (United Nations Office in Geneva) to deliver our message. We brought with us over 136 000 signatures by Eritreans. By ERITREANS. With 500 people they (Commission of Inquiry on Eritrea) have tarnished the name of a whole country. 500 people, that we do not even know if are Eritreans or not. But we have gathered 136 000 signatures (that rejects their report). Last year, we came and we told them that us Eritreans, we stand with our country Eritrea. This year, we are more than 10 000 people standing here. If necessary, we are also prepared to come here next year. We are ready year after year, until you have taken your hands off Eritrea We told them to leave Eritrea alone, leave our people alone and leave our leaders alone. They told us that they could only accept two representatives from us. We asked to come with five or six people, but I guess they fear the truth, and said that they preferred only two representatives. However, we told them that we both represents more than 10 000 people standing outside. This message which is signed with 136 000 signatures and the 45 000 testimonies, they said that they received, clearly states that the COIE report does not represent the reality in Eritrea, it is biased, and will only bring suffering to the people of Eritrea. We ask you to stop what you are trying to do! Humans rights is our first concern as Eritreans. Nobody can lecture us about human rights, especially not people who used to enslave (Africans). Human rights is our concern. Human rights in Eritrea is our concern. Ethiopia, USA, and all who are trying to put their hands in our issues and who are bothering us, if they just keep their hands to themselves.. our human rights, our democracy, our people which concerns us, and is our main priorities, and you will see how far Eritrea will develop. Just keep your hands, your feet and your mouth to yourselves! They have listened to us. What they do here is, they do not rush to say that they will stop them right away. But we have explained the work of COI and Sheila, and they reassured us that our complaints will be handled properly and reach the correct body. However, no matter what happens, at the end we will not say that we came here in vain. Not at all! Because we have the truth and our country in front of us. I will tell you one thing, it is really funny, or I will tell you two things. This is the truth, I have kids, and I swear on my kids. Yesterday, I was in there (United Nations Office in Geneva) I saw the Ethiopian Ambassador with the people that have been accusing Eritrea here Today. Do you want me to tell you their name? YES!! He was sitting with Daniel Mekonnen and giving him instructions. When I looked at them, they got uncomfortable and separated as they left. He was being coached in front of my eyes I did not take a picture, since that is not allowed. I was not the only one to witness this interaction, there were also other people there. This is how they are pushing forward their lies, they are sending people, that we do not even know if are Eritrean or not. The second thing I experienced in there was a question by one white person. He asked me: “When did all of you people arrive here?” I replied that we drove for 24 hours, from different corners of Europe and even Canada. Then he asked me: “Do you really spend three days?”. When I said yes, he asked: “How much does your government pay you to come here?” I am not lying. “Your government must have paid you salary for three days. If it was me, I would not have demonstrated like this without pay”. You know what I replied to him? I said: “The difference between Eritreans and your kind is now clear to you, as stated by you”. That is what he told us. Anyway, time is running, we went in there to represent the voice of all of us here. We told them that we categorically and unequivocally reject these attempts to demonize and de-legitimize Eritrea. Today, tomorrow and hereafter, we stand by our country, our people and our government. If we do have any issues, we will solve our issues ourselves. Consequently, if they listen to us, great! If not, next year we meet where? Right here! Power to the people! Power to the people! Power to the People!
