Is Mick Mulvaney’s Time as White House Chief of Staff Coming to an End?


Hi, it’s Ben White, Chief Economic Correspondent for Politico with your US Politics In just 60 Seconds. Alright, Let’s start the clock. I think there’s a good chance that it is, given his disastrous press conference and then shaky performance on Fox News over the weekend. You got anonymous leaks coming
out of the White House of folks who would like to see him gone. The thing is, Trump hates firing people so he could hang around for a little while, but he is on thin ice. I think it’s as near as it has been in a while. You had positive comments coming out of the
Chinese side on Tuesday. President Trump also saying on Monday that he thought the Chinese were buying ag products and that there might be the chance for a signing of a deal in Chile next month when he meets with President Xi Jinping. Trump knows he needs a deal to keep the economy going heading into reelection. Well, there’s lots of them. His oversight responsibility and service to Baltimore as a congressman. But I think the biggest is his role as a mentor to lots of African-American staffers in Congress as well as in Baltimore. You talk to them, there’s tons of stories
