  5. the only problem with change that he speaks of…. its never happened before!!! look back to when we where first a country the founding fathers where that one percent… sorry to say it but the founding father actually wrote the constitution to help them. Under the articles of confederation they where worried about loosing their property so they designed a government to cater to them… The only way any change can be good is find an equal point between socialism and capitalism. Each extreme…

  6. is not good at all… with socialism you get told everything and people need some choices… and it never works out because one person is always controlling you… and capitalism is bad because it sets up a system where an elite can just take control the system and make the super rich and not to care about anybody else, If humanity wants to have the right system of economics that helps everyone with still choices we need to find a system that is mixed.

  7. Never happened? Women couldn't vote, blacks couldn't vote and had to sit in the back of the bus. We have a black president, for god's sake! We are a conservative country and things change slowly, but they do change. Fatalistic thinking keeps people passive, controlled. Citizens can change things when they care enough.

  8. Have you ever lived in or visited a socialized country? France? England? Sweden?
They have more freedom than we do, including the freedom to see a doctor and the freedom to go to college without being enslaved to debt for the rest of their lives. Don't fall for corporate propaganda!

  9. Even if they did pay 80% of the taxes, it is because they are forced to do so by society. Which means that they should be forced to pay more, because they obviously are still too rich.

You are against child labor? Against mandatory 6 1/2 day work weeks, 16 hours a day? Congratulations, you're a socialist.

  10. Thanks for the laugh. That was a really good one about the "thousands of people" dying in a heat wave. Tell me, do you actually work for an HMO, or do you spread these entertaining fictions for your own amusement? Lived in Europe? Maybe Paris, Kentucky.

  11. Germany yes… it is amazing there i want to live there some day… The taxes might be a little higher than normal but it is a government the people want.

  12. It's obvious why nothing changes- listen to the morons who make these comments. This is your general everyday person. The powerful elite are totally safe, because there isn't the brain comprehension skill for them to even UNDERSTAND how they are taking it in the ass from every direction. These people are sheep. 1% own everything because only 1% are smart enough and tough enough to own it. Michael's films are BRILLIANT, but they are wasted on these people. Now go watch jon&kate plus 8. LOL

  13. This "aced4" person must be a Paid Goon For the Anti-Michael Moore League. He comes on every few hours to make stupid comments about a movie that hasn't even come out yet. I would be willing to bet that he hasn't seen ONE of Michael's films from beginning to end. What is the matter with these people? Why can't they understand that Michael is Speaking For Them, DEFENDING them, and putting himself in the line of fire for their DUMB ASSES. People like aced4 are truly pathetic.

  14. If you look at the statistics, you will find that the French have a longer life expectancy than we do, and much lower infant mortality rates–and nobody dies being sent by ambulance to the only hospital allowed by their HMO. Sorry about the ridicule, but I am a teacher who has had students die for lack of health insurance

  15. It's four hours long, but we had to cut it down to 2hrs because making people sit down for 4hrs of Micheal Moore wouldn't be profitable lulz

  16. They also don't spend as much money on war. I love how blood thirsty liberals try to focus people's attentions to these strange diffuse ideas like "greed ruined the economy" just so they can save their warmongering political patriarchs and their war machine from any blame.
And yes, I do consider neo-cons like Bush and his supporters to be politically liberal (giving the gov't a "free hand" while constricting the actions and usurping civil liberties and the property rights of private citizens).

  17. You do realize that France does not count premature babies dying at a certain age in their infant mortality rate OR their life expectancy, and that your anecdotal testimony about having students die from lack of health insurance (this must be a new disease that I've never heard of, because usually people die from diseases, not because they don't have insurance) counts factually for nothing, right?

P.S. – America has a huge obesity problem, and Michael Moore is part of it.

  18. Capitalism has pushed us to have our great American society, even with the few things that are wrong. Cars, tv's, VCR, computer chips, medical breakthroughs, inexpensive food, plentiful food, etc, have all been a result of capitalism. Do we want it like 1988 USSR when they had to wait for days for a gallon of milk? There needs to be some regulation in capitalism, but socialism is far far more dangeous.

  19. Jacobew. Black or white?, right or wrong, heaven or hell, woups!!! Wait a minute here, in middle please. Planet earth, ah O.K. Now let's start talking. The question ask in Moore film, or by others who have opposition against the economic system we have now, do not believe in radical revolotional communisism O.K. What he, is talking about is regulating the pursuit of wealth in such a way as their isin't so much inequality in the end. What he is talking about is a democraticly ordered capitalism.

  20. And, what that mean, is that you can get has rich as you want buddy, but you CAN NOT don't give a fuc.. about the society in witch you live in. Because it is that that same society witch permit you and serve you the right to be rich in the first place. Or, if you want to see it another way. You need losers to have winners, so take care of your losers, because they will have ALL, and i mean ALL the GODLY and RATIONAL right's to kick your ass out of your situation.

  21. And what you we have now is millions of time worst then waiting 3 hours for a gallon of milk. It's million of peoples that that will never find a job to buy the fuc…g gallon of milk. There is 10 to 15% of your population that don't have any opportunity what so ever to aspire to wealth. NONE! In my country, poor people have a home, food, quality education and health care. And everybody can get stinking rich. We buy as much as you do, we are free to invest as you do, and we help the small guy.

And you DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT to say to anyone on this fucki..g planet, the way they should run their lives and economy. If you want to defend your right to live in a structure witch leave it's needy people in a sham, then built a wall around your country and leave us the fuck alone.

  24. If one man's gain is inevitably due to another man's lose is it fair to say that world hunger is entirely due to Michael Moore's disgustingly bloated corpus?
Or that young teenage girls suffer self esteem issues because it was all taken away by a hack movie director in order to create the gigantic ego necessary release a movie into "price gouging" theaters that describes profit as evil when he just could have released it to the internet or at least dvd?

  28. In France 15,000 old people died in a heat wave (gov. stats.) but it was not because they were denied access to hospitals rather there was not an outreach program to educate people in their homes. The insistence of many Americans of using the term 'socialism' as some sort dirty word continues to baffle Europeans. Here most gov. are a balance between solialist and capilatist ideals. We are not so insecure that we are scared the 'reds' will take over.We have confidence in democracy…try to learn.

  30. I think that there is a basic missunderstanding regarding the term 'socialism'. For ALL other Western European nations it represents an ideological mind frame which is concerned with "Doing for those that which they cannot do for themselves" to quote Jefferson i.e. access to medical care and social justice. Our systems combine capitalism and socialism and this seeems to what you do not understand.Your president is asking for health insurance yet you won't listen using scare tactics instead….

  31. We have what could be termed capitalism with a human face which incidentally is the denifition of a democracy i.e. that it tends to the needs of those who are dissenfranchised. This notion that only those who succeed faninacially are entitled to medical care is repugnant. In Europe we feed our populations and give them medical care instead of spending billions on wars overseas trying to 'enforce' democracy in sham ways. Republicans have created a ideology to justify greed and selfishness.

The next 50 years will be VERY interesting.

  33. From what I've read, in Europe if your country has a good health care system you pay very high taxes. Or in places like Ireland you pay high taxes and you still get a totally horrible health system with waiting lists for operations and it seems people regularly spend 24+ hours in the emergency room before seeing a doctor.

And you express it so poetically in your simple but effective 7 word comment. That was sarcasm by the way, you may need to look that word up in the dictionary.

  40. Many comments here confirm the very limited grasp many Americans have of politics and economics due to the fact that they have been brainwashed into fearing words like 'socialism'..as hank points out in Europe we have a much better living standard than you do in the US and we do not perceive government as a threat because we understand that the democratic process ends up serving the people…the US is like a child that needs time to grow up and mature ..the problem is that time is running out.

    Reply

  41. @turockandar oh god bless you in heaven one day but on earth your are just a lousy sinner. What are you telling here about Europeans understanding and "estimating" democratic standards in Europe is just a bunch of nonsense. Much better living standards for whom? For the riches as in the US and in a slighter degree they are all a little lesser rich than US plutocrats, so what? This makes Europe a perfect capitalistic and DemocratiC system, not at all! Western govmts are a threat for all people
