Mike Lee makes fun of the Green New Deal using Reagan on a dinosaur, Star Wars and Sharknado

LEE: This is of course a picture of former
President Ronald Reagan naturally firing a machine gun while riding on the back
of a dinosaur. You’ll notice a couple of important features here: First of all the rocket launcher strapped to President Reagan’s back and then the stirring
unmistakable patriotism of the Velociraptor holding up a tattered
American flag, while awesome, in real life there was no climactic battle there was no battle with or without velociraptors. But that quibble actually serves our
purposes here today Mr. President because this image has as much to do
with overcoming communism in the 20th century as the Green New Deal has to do
with overcoming climate change in the 21st. Future without air travel. how are
we supposed to get around the vast expanses of say Alaska during the winter? Well I’ll tell you how Tauntauns, Mr. President. This is a beloved
species of reptomammals native to the ice planet of Hoth. Now while perhaps not
as efficient in some ways as airplanes or as snowmobiles, these hairy bipedal
species of space lizards offer their own unique benefits not only are Tauntauns
carbon neutral but according to a report a long time ago and issued far far away
they may even be fully recyclable and usable for their warmth especially on a
cold night. All residents of Hawaii would be left with is this. This is a picture of Aquaman. No Utahn needs to hear pious lectures about the gravity of
climate change from politicians from other states for it was only in 2016 as
viewers of the Sy-Fy network will well remember when climate change hit home in
Utah when our own state was struck not simply by a tornado
Mr. President but by a tornado with sharks in it. These images are from the
indispensable documentary film Sharknado 4 Governor Herbert
bravely fought the animal off with the tennis racket that he keeps by his desk
precisely for occasions such as this so let’s be really clear Mr. President
climate change is no joke But the Green New Deal is a joke.

  1. Reagan on dinosaur design is by Jason Heuser. Sharpwriter on Deviant Art. Found after some looking around.

  2. I remember back in the '70s when the experts were all screaming about "the coming global ice age", and they've made so many false predictions since then that it's hard to take them seriously. Even if they happen to be correct this time, they have yet to propose anything that will actually fix it.

  3. Doing the job of SNL since they are apparently too cowardly to make fun of the absolute lunacy of the modern day Democrat party

  4. That poor assistant in the corner. She was trying so hard, especially during the sharknado bit. My heart goes out to her and her esophagus, which must have been trembling like a trampoline pounced upon by Ronald Reagans domesticated Velociraptor.

  5. What's actually funny is AOC and her allies are actually taking these things seriously 🤣🤣🤣

  6. Senator Lee just became a living legend. Liberals of course are getting butt hurt over his proposal, failing to understand it was satire intended to point out how ridiculous and impractical the GND actually is. And while complaining about Republicans voting against it they conveniently ignore the fact that not one single Democrat voted for it. After it was shot down the Drama Queen screeched about how "people are DYING!".

  17. Is no one going to acknowledge that his entire argument was a logical fallacy? This guy should have used some real facts instead of spewing drivel. You will never convince someone with some actual brains with that kind of argument. (Faulty Comparison Fallacy)

  18. Watch the full version. Even funnier! Among many other funny moments, he makes a direct reference to Dr. Strangelove! I think most of the press didn't catch it.

"Mr. President we must not allow and cannot tolerate a giant seahorse gap!" – Mike Lee UTAH

"Mr. President, we must not allow and cannot tolerate a mineshaft gap!" – George C. Scott as General 'Buck' Turgidsen in the Kubrick movie 'Dr. Strangelove'.
