Solo voyage, the “soviet Rambo” movie /Одиночное плавание, кино о «советском Рэмбо»

yarmulke privyet gerousia and welcome to another it’s too hot in California me to cook travel or go anywhere so I’m camping in my air-conditioned room and watching movies so today it’s what I call a review on a combat comedy the detached Mission soul of which whatever it’s called so a minute some backstory on this kind of a war story I suppose my last tour in Iraq was indeed a boring one most of the time I had nothing to do but surf the web I’d watch download a lot of movies from my youth like cold war-era flicks such as Red Dawn the original from 1984 that is the the remake was stupid herb I came across this clip hold it for us after Matt and the quest was on I I had to not only find a full version but one with subtitles or voiceover well I found a voiceover that I I downloaded now since then Soviet movies online has changed and I don’t have a membership you know to pay to watch these movies rebounce them here’s a hint if you share my videos help me get more subscribers and click on those ads it’s going to help me out a lot like to get a membership for Soviet movies online because they got some pretty good movies I found loaded a couple okay let me say first I get what the producer was going for it basically a Soviet parody of American action movies of the time in the 1980s it was good oh man for me it was also what the hell so the plot well it basically is a story of a deranged CIA agent bent on starting World War 3 and it’s thwarted kind of by accident by a group of naval infantry soldiers basically Soviet Marines the accident of course is when a rescue mission of an American airline pilot who’s out fortune honey III thought it was pretty funny during that segment I’m thinking is this supposed to be the the Soviet version of the American version of well the Soviet ideals and and instead of doing you know and instead of showing a little clips here here’s here’s the clip I’m talking about it’s the English version on these islands he’s a pilot Island air he says he found them just by chance he wants one he thinks finding something means owning okay okay confusing I know so the plot was decent now on to a few things first I love ripping apart accuracy now I get this was done in the 80s and I get this was a parody of American action movies but I don’t think your smoovies are that inaccurate about stuff I mean at least in in Red Dawn we tried to make east t-72 and a hind model a I mean the limits wait the Nimitz littered with beers no not that Nimitz yeah that one that one hell even a days when I was a tanker okay okay we had beers on maneuvers but not so blatantly screwed around the tank like here the picking Cuba as Florida okay not not too bad it kind of believable but the American uniforms just look pretty okay okay I get that most US depictions of rushing uniforms aren’t the best I mean Red Dawn here wait wait I’m even gonna go further back red nightmare 1916 something yeah okay I mean yeah this guy not only wrecked it but nuke it from orbit he’ll it makes most World War two movies from the 60s look historically accurate and if you know anything about us movies well okay look yeah and this is my favorite movie no this one’s not my favorite movie I mean oversized nametags oversized ranks and what the hell is what that camouflage hell even on American TV during the 80s every soldier was in a vietnam-era uniform i I mean you could have got used that and gotten away with it better hell you could probably have used to be uniforms or digit and what’s up with the grooming standards this guy looks like a whacked-out survivalist who did Woodstock I mean let’s let’s look at this clip from a TV movie that I had called World War 3 okay this is this is David soul from Starsky and Hutch he’s not in within grooming standards either but okay that grooming standard shirt an NBC TV movie grooming standards for solo voyage brilliant I am a special forces rockstar in the first heavy metal units the music oh the music I loved it oh we we have a saying here straight-to-video and that music right up there it reminded me of one of those some of those stupid sequels no one hears about like Delta Force for or American Ninja six or any 80s us come fool movie that did not have Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal I mean the whole soundtrack for movies I’m talking about played on a synth keyboard in fact I definitely think make a king cake and sometimes a section for 80s were really something on saxophone true in the action sequences yes da this was 80s action movies especially this this scene with the knives though the one that got me going here okay I mean yeah but what an amazing anticlimax is stopping the missiles yeah I mean here we have a half-hour beatdown with a bad guy stick them with a bayonet year than this looks almost fire off a rocket launcher and then the missile would self-destruct because he’s like still alive somehow or like Chuck Norris here in invasion USA [Music] yeah here here oh look Julie I found off switch it’s beautiful it’s magically it’s it’s amazing it’s perfect it is perfect in my opinion a a Soviet solution to an American problem I mean like I said we’d be doing all this sort of crazy stuff to kill the bad guy in a very spectacular way and all that and it’s just like here okay I’ve stopped war well well done well worth the whole movie now learning some things also from Roman who saw this this English dub version was not work for correct oh well it was still pretty good so solo voyage gets a thumb up for me honestly I’d love to see a remake but don’t put Michael Bay in charge we don’t need that much explosions or JJ Abrams I mean that’s all I need is a massive amounts of lens flare I didn’t want to point out one other thing but before I went with the closing notes here I did also like the ending to a point I mean the ending that was really Hollywood I mean you got you got the bad guy and he crawls out of the ship that’s sinking and for some reason from miles away or wherever the heck he is he’s able to fire off a burst from an m16 and killed the commander yeah okay reality I couldn’t see you firing off an RPG and hitting him from a ship that far out let alone an m16 and then to fire back with an aka and kill him or maybe he just died I don’t know like I said wonderful wonderful parody on American action movies I thought it was extremely hilarious and extremely entertaining and that was one of the things I really liked the most is I was entertained I was well entertained and that’s what I liked about watching movies I want to be entertained I don’t want to be distracted I want to be entertained so I can sit around you know the the next morning and at a formation or something like that going hey I just saw this wickedly stupid movie that was that just wasted two hours of my life away and it was great and that’s what I kind of like about watching American action movies is I can escape for a couple hours I can escape I can be entertained and you know during this heatwave I really don’t want to go out and cook because it is very hot this is the current temperature outside this is the current temperature in my room and I’m yeah I’m wearing shorts I don’t ever wear shorts so yeah you know I just kind of sit in my room try not to try not to really do a lot of projects but you know there’s still a lot of things that have to be done and mostly I’m just sitting in here I’m either playing World of Tanks or I’m watching old movies again and you know rebab duck are you interested on my take of American action movies I know the previous video I talked about you know TV when I was growing up but yeah action movies was was kind of my life I mean how easy is it to watch it nowadays over there I mean I I really be intrigued by your view as I said right now until this heat wave is over I’ll be sitting in my room I’ll be watching TV watching movies watching old TV reruns and things like that and because I do want to get a video out week to share my life with you folks of Russia and Eastern Europe I just be interested to know you know is there an American action movie that you would like me to review I’ve got like a terabyte and that’s that’s a lot that’s a lot so yeah you know that I’ll be doing a couple more reviews I’ve got a couple more movies that I wanted to share with you one is my all-time favorite American action movie and the other one I thought after this one would be the 1984 Red Dawn and what I liked about it what was interesting about it and mostly with Red Dawn what I would like to know is I would like to know your views on the movie not so much the plot line but just how bad did we screw up so until next time Lucia the habla Co Heat what is heat in Russian of course you know my little my little word of the day it doesn’t say it’s too damn hot but yeah until next time yah black Oh dr. pepper yeah lots of it’s chai cold chai iced tea please and pakka [Applause] I’m proud of the baby right on

Ray, one of my favorite us comedies is the movie " the Russians are coming! The Russians Are Coming!", 1966. I watched it recently, and also in a wild delight. Although the form and weapons – also cause complaints. )))

Hi Ray! Stop the bomb! Watch real Soviet films about the war based on real events of the time. No parodies and show business. It is worth watching movies-Twice born and Check on the roads. I think you will see a huge difference between Hollywood and real Soviet cinema.

  29. lol, Ray. We too, all in misunderstanding why the Soviet military uniforms, in 80s American war films never looked like the real… In the 80s, neither in the USSR nor the USA, the film producers could not get the uniform of the potential enemy of their country. Maybe all it because of the "iron curtain"…

  30. Ray, please do not review Red down. This movie is a disgrace to Hollywood. It is more disgusting than the russian Green elephanty. I'm sure there is not one of your subscribers who would understand what is happening in Red down movie … To the USSR attacked you, you needed to take Kamchatka peninsula from us and kill ten millions of our citizens, at least. How do you think this is possible?
We more like movies like The hunt for red October and Red scorpion (where Dolf Lundgren sining – SoWetSky SoUse :-))

  31. Hi, Ray! Looked at the Red Dawn in rewind today. It seems that this movie was funded from the propaganda committee or the producer smoked drags)) Good things: 1) The form on the soldiers is real and the military vehicles copied well. 2) But the anti-tank RPG-7 on some scenes looks like a sham. 3) In the middle of the film at the T-72 a shot from a cannon, as in a children's cartoons. Mi-24 is very similar, this is how the prototype of this helicopter looked like 4) BRDM-2 and 2A6 like even real ones)))
Bad done: 1) Some soviet soldiers speak russian very badly. 2) The producers and directors of the film have at least consulted with military experts or the first former emigrants from the USSR who finished soviet army, they already lived in America. Just had to go to Brighton Beach)) It seems silly to land a landing near the school)) It seems strange how air defense systems in America and the coast guard could not catch the enemy on their radar? 🙂 4) Why does a Russian soldier shoot an RPG-7 in an empty school bus?)) After all, when the offensive captures strategic objects – bridges, airports, power plants etc. Not a small city 5) Stupid is the scene with the Yak-38, which stands under the camouflage net and the American partisan, throws a German grenade from the WW2 and destroys the aircraft and what does the pilot do on the jetfighter with stupid face? )) 6) During the dialogue near the Mi-24, a Soviet soldier has a hooded head under the hood under his cap(like a German soldier from WW2)… 🙂 . This movie is more like a comedy or an American fairy tale by modern standards. Maybe for 1984 in America – it was interesting.
In general, life in America is so comfortable that Hollywood producers try to destroy this comfort by some kind of global catastrophe. ))) If the meteorite falls – it falls to America) If there is a global cooling – it will happen in America)) If the aliens attack – the capture will begin with America))) Oh, this Hollywood …)

  32. Hi Ray. Please, tell me one thing… Do American people really believe all this nonsense, they see in those propaganda movies? What do they feel about those horrible Russians? Fear? Hate? Or maybe they understand that somebody just trying to manipulate their minds, to control them. It's easier to control people in fear and hate, believing that enemies are all around them. Or maybe Americans just watch those movies like some kind of *trash*, like Uwe Boll stuff, or freaking "Green Elefant"? As for me, I don't like propaganda movies. I believe they are untrue, manipulative, unfair and humiliating for both sides shown. I prefer to watch real people in their real envuronment, with their real thoughts spoken. Thanks for showing us a bit of you, your life and your country.
    Peace, bro!

  44. Ray, Most American movies we also watch: "God, that's crap." However, we waved our hands, they say, well, okay.

We did not have such uniforms. It looks "unusual" for us. Nobody wanted the Americans to be hated "directly". Foreigners – this is enough.

And we must understand that this is a movie for teenagers. The bad guy has to say his "last word". Stupidly, well, okay.
