Soviet Anthem 1944 (With Subtitles)

Soviet Anthem 1944 (With Subtitles)

(An unbreakable union of free republics)
(The Great Russia has welded forever to stand)
(Long live the creation of the will of the people)
(The united, mighty Soviet Union!)
(Be glorious, our free Motherland)
(A reliable stronghold of the peoples’ friendship!)
(Banner of the Soviets, Banner of the people)
(May it lead from victory to victory!)
(Through tempests the sun of freedom shone to us)
(And the great Lenin illuminated our path)
(We were raised by Stalin to be true to the people)
(To labour and heroic deeds he inspired us!)
(Be glorious, our free Motherland)
(A reliable stronghold of the peoples’ happiness!)
(Banner of the Soviets, Banner of the people)
(May it lead from victory to victory!)
(We grew our army in battles)
(We will sweep the vile invaders out of the way!)
(We shall in battle decide the fate of generations)
(We shall lead to glory our Motherland!)
(Be glorious, our free Motherland)
(A reliable stronghold of the peoples’ glory!)
(Banner of the Soviets, Banner of the people)
(May it lead from victory to victory!)

  1. I’m sorry to spoil our fun Comrades/Tovarisches, but this is not the 1944 version 🙁

[b/c it has the 1977 lyrics instead of the 1944 lyrics; it’s clear to tell that this is the deStalinized lyrics]

  10. This version was played in a Victory day orchestra probably in the 50's. The lower instrumental base is made of trombones and beating instruments and drums, while high notes and vocals are accompanied by string instruments, note that this is not played around 1944 version (it has eventual balalaika and no arch string instruments).

  13. You have ironically correct English translation, but wrong Russian lyrics. You can clearly hear that the words don't match up with what's on the screen actually…
