Hi there, it’s Kovy! We use almost all apps or services for free… …at least we think we do. But actually, we pay very high price. Maybe you would like to know a topic of this video, but I’ll disappoint you. It’s a private information. My private information. So… “THEY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT US!” The main topic of this video will be privacy. And we’ll start on a place where a lot of us write most of our personal informations. Facebook. What if I told you that Facebook knows at least one thing about *everyone* who’s watching this video About you. All of you! Yes, even about the ones that never signed up on Facebook HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? When you sign on Facebook, it makes you a great offer “Do you want to know which of your friends are on Facebook?” “Give us a permission to see your contacts.” And a lot of people will really do it. Facebook will then take not only contacts of people that are already using Facebook but for people who don’t have Facebook profile it creates a new “shadow profile” So, it’s enough to have one friend who has your contact information and he shared it with Facebook Sorry, but I can’t add you as friend on Facebook. Wait, why? Because I don’t have any Facebook, cause I’m not a social sheep and I’m going against the flow Oh, you liar! You have a profile, ’cause I shared your phone n umber with Facebook half a year ago… Idiot But it could be even worse. If you have a friend who uses Messenger or Facebook Lite on an Android device He could have accidentaly allowed Facebook access Call and SMS History. With that, Facebook can see who they call to, how often, how long and it could read their messages and you could be the person they write to. Don’t worry, soon I’ll tell you how to make a Facebook stop taking these private data Before that, let’s look at enormous scandal, that made the head of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, say this: Jesus! Sorry! I’ve mistaken these two. Of course, this is Mark Zuckenberg. It is about scandal with a company named Cambridge Analytica There were a lot of articles and reports, so nobody knows what happened anymore And almost nobody cares about the fact, that this company with an enormous scandal operated even here, in the Czech Republic. Please allow me to explain it. I know, a lot of you will say “I don’t care that Facebook stalks me” “I only send a GIF with a cat or some meme or I give a like” But this is the biggest lapse. Everything started in 2013 when web research found out, that just based on a few likes, your gender, religion, race, sexual orientation or who you’re going to vote for, can be determined With a solid, but not 100% accuracy. Cambridge Analytica became interested in this research and they assigned academic named Aleksandr Kogan with a simple task “Create a personal questionnaire with 100 questions.” It was filled by 270 000 Americans. They did it for ridiculous five bucks. But there was a hitch. For filling this questionnaire you had to log in with your Facebook account. Kongan got an access to information like date of birth, address and mainly likes. Yes, the likes that can tell you so much about a person’s personality. Kogan then had three types of information 1st – Likes. 2nd – All the information you shared publicly on Facebook and gave HIM access to 3rd – 100 answers from the questionnaire. Like this, he found out everything about the participants, even things the participants didn’t know about themselves. With a combination of all this, he got basically a psychometric model He combined it with the information about how these people voted and he sent everything to Cambridge Analytica. But that’s not all. Thanks to privacy settings on FB at the time, Cambridge Analytica also got access to information about all of the participant’s friends So not only did they have complete profiles information from 270 000 people, but also another 87 milion others, less complete profiles. That’s more than a quarter of American voters. And now, time for something that can’t be called other than complete f*ck up Because we’ll talk about how Cambridge Analytica used this data. Meet Alexander Nix. A person who was only last year describing how Cambridge Analytica helped Donald Trump win the election So it was about Cambridge Analytica using all that information from this Facebook scandal plus they added 150 000 researches from the United States every week and made an enormous database of voters so that they could target every individual At that time people hadn’t known about that Facebook scandal so Cambridge Analytica was pretty much almighty …which of course respects democratic zásady But in reality, everything is MUCH more terrifying British TV Channel 4 broadcasted a great report where they secretly recorded people from Cambridge Analytica with figurant Who pretended he was a politician from Sri Lanka who wanted to sway elections Four meetings took place and the things they discussed are absolutely crazy. Now arrives our celebrity from the conferences – Alexander Nix. It’s very terrifying how he talks with a potential client in privacy. Yeah… Brits are good at playing villains Maybe you are thinking that: “But this doesn’t involve us. It’s the USA and Britain. Well, you are mistaken And that “Eastern” Europe country is.. guess what.. The Czech Republic. Cambridge Analytica has via SCL Group operated also in the Czech Republic and nobody knows how. The question stays… how and for who? Were they interfering with the elections as in Kenya or the US or if it was a non-political company… This question stays for investigative journalists and I hope that we’ll find out more in the next weeks But the enthusiasm in that f*cker’s eyes truly scares me. Okay… we have a very hard topic today. Let’s bring here someone who will make us relax and tells some jokes. How is it possible that a man who manages the biggest social network in the world is not able to make social interactions with another people? Anyways, there not many reasons to laugh. Because there could be dozens or thousands of companies like Cambridge Analytica Recently Facebook banned an agency like that, named Cubeyou. It’s hard to say how many other companies like that exist. We all know quizzes like: “Who would you be as a historic
figure?” “Who were you in your past life?” And I can’t believe that some people still fill these stupid quizzes. Their only goal is to get to your data And, unfortunately, people on social networks are 100 times more naive than in real life. It’s only testified by the fact that there are still people sending chain messages like: “If you don’t send this message to 20 people you will have bad luck for the rest of your life” I bet that Cambridge Analytica has these people in the box named: INSANE IDIOTS The only thing I want is for you to tell your relatives, or younger siblings, who don’t understand it well, to be aware of what they post on Facebook. and that they shouldn’t fill those stupid quizzes Wait, wait… Not even me? No, not even you, Pavel because everybody knows that you are the most similar to Donald Trump Eh… how do you know it? 1st – There was a complaint from Pablo, an exchange student from Mexico You egomaniac… 2nd – When you watched “Pošta pro tebe” you never want them to remove the wall Wait.. wait… how do you know this? Well, if you haven’t filled that stupid quiz, my friend Alexander wouldn’t have to tell me everything. If you are interested in which information do Facebook, Twitter, Tinder or Snapchat have on you You can download from their sites all the data they have on you For example on Facebook you can find it in Settings, as “Download files with my information” On email you will receive the file with all that given social network has about you. For example I received this from Facebook. “Mommy, look!” “Bart’s eye!” Thanks, Nicola. But there could also be more serious things. On which advertisements you clicked, which companies have access to your private data Which messages did you sent to your ex Voice messages, photos, gifs Simply everything. I recommend to everyone to download it. And depending on that, to totally delete your account on that social network Which is very difficult in this age, I know Or at least to limit the access of these companies as much as you can. This everything, including the ability to download all of your data, which used to be available only for journalists is now possible thanks to new European programme GDPR. I beg you and I will be really happy If you could share this video even if it’s with your friends on Facebook Because it was really hard to put all of this into comprehensible and brief shape And mainly I’m surprised how many people still don’t realize that they don’t pay with money but with privacy. And a lot of the things they know about us, even we don’t know about ourselves. So have a nice day See you in other video Bye!
