Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic Quick Start Guide | Part 1: Beginning Industry

Alright welcome back! Last episode we
set up a our power plant and placed different buildings with some basic services. So in
this episode we’re going to go ahead and set up some basic industry. I’ve found that the farming and the alcohol supply chain
seems to be the most profitable that you can set up. So let’s get started The initial farm [is] connected to grain
storage and then a road depot as well so basic idea is you have different farm
fields that are plowed and we’ll initially use, in our case a tractor, so we purchase
four tractors that we can be constantly working for different fields at once. [And] get a little extra so that once the fields are sowed we’ll be able to consistently be
seeing tractors in addition to that, [I’ve] gone ahead and purchased the Western
Harvester because it apparently has a higher harvesting level speed at least for the
1960 start and then I’ve chosen a covered truck and so the covered truck
will come out and collect the crops once they’ve been harvested once those crops
have been harvested they’ll be stored anything that can be
picked up I’ve set up trucks here to pick up and bring those crops over to a
distillery here unload at the road station and then ideally have some
citizens come to work and turn crops into alcohol so I’ve set up two different
routes one to bring alcohol to the border to sell for rubles the other to
bring a small amount of alcohol to our pub that we built last episode so we
don’t have to rely on imports and to get the distillery started we’re going to
auto purchase a small amount of crops so that there’s always some to be worked all
right we’re gonna go ahead and set up a food industry as well. The main difference
being that we’re not going to export food because of the low value
that it has when exported okay as our city expands we’re going to
need to actually wire up power we’ve been using the benefit of [the] power plant here [and] the fact that the wires are connected underground so what we’re going to do is
we’re going to need to set up an electrical substation and that will
allow us to connect up areas of the city that wouldn’t normally be connected by our network. So we can see the yellow lines that means that substations will connect everything up
so we’ll drop there that is our endpoint so powers normally produced [and carried along] high-voltage
wires and we’re going to need step-down the power with a transformer as well alright and to bring power from the
voltage wires to the transformer we’re going to need to set up a switch so
now power flows both ways [from the] border to our power plant and to our transformer we’re going to connect it up with medium wires to a substation
so then as we expand out here we’ll have a power connection okay so quick recap we’ve set it the
form to grow crops those crops are sent one of three places the first being the
distillery where the alcohol is brought to our pub or brought to the border and
sold the other being the livestock farm where the livestock is turned into meat
for the grocery store and finally the food factory where the crops are turning
to food and used in our grocery store thanks for joining me if you have any
questions please feel free to reach out in the comments so thanks for joining me I miss anything
feel free to let me know in the comments otherwise any feedback is always
appreciated thank you

  1. Keep making those please. I've had a game for a week now but I've been struggling with getting everything off the ground. I always tried to start with heavy industry and coal/oil exports only to run into logistical and personnel problems. This is totally different approach that might actually work for me. Thanks.

  2. Um, if this is supposed to be teaching the game, fast-forwarding through the first industry chain with all the different buildings, buying vehicles and how to set up routes isn't as helpful as it could be.

  3. your last video was way better bec. you did everything slower and explained it, please do that again like that, still a good video

  4. Fast Forwarding is not teaching. Normal speed and explaining is teaching. this video is more of a Timelaps with a few tidbits of info tossed in.
If you make more , do normal speed. i'd rather watch a 30 minute Great video rather than a horrible 5 minute video.

  5. yeah this video is very hard to learn because of the fast forwarding, too bad cause it would have been great to learn if you actually have done it like your previous video.

  6. Hey, thanks a lot. I bought the game right after releasing it on steam, but I had no clue, how to make the place working. Thank you. Please, can you record some gameplay? I would happily watch it!

  7. This is supposed to be a tutorial, right? You are connecting supply chains but never tell how, lol. And, you are building things that you never tell about them like the truck thing connected to the farm? The fast forward stuff is dumb for a tutorial.

  9. Actually you play it wrong. You as a player is shud take care of your citizens. Not!!! to import workers. Make your industry around Towns and use buses to just transport workers to remote areas [ coal mines, etc]. Try to ply that way and its totally different game.

  10. Dude, don't do fast forward, that way we can't learn anything, and ofcourse its sad that the makers didn't include a tutorial

  12. nice videos, please keep makeing, because the game don't have a good starter guide, and it's really hard to learn what is good to make and what is not.

  13. I had no problem with the fast forwarding. Good video, as long as you take your time to explain what you did there in the end it even saves me some time as a viewer. Looking forward to more videos from you. Very helpful.

  14. Wow, this is worse than Raptor… at least he doesn't fast forward, just talks like he's on Meth or coke or something. A tutorial with fast forward and no explanations is less than useless.
